Job Description
The Tactical Scientific Defense Security Division based in Cyprus is seeking experienced maritime security operatives. The MSO will be categorized as an independent contractor. This relationship has benefits for all parties, the main benefit is it allows flexibility in work schedules and ideal staffing for client projects. The MSO work environment could encompass the following options, assigned to client site(s) domestic and international, temporary and long term projects.
*MSO must be familiar with The International Maritime Organization (IMO) – International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code)
with preference going to operatives already certified under ISPS.

*MSO must be familiar with the use of video conferencing media such as Skype. MSO must be familiar with commercial and military grade VHF/UHF radio systems. Familiarization with SatCom, satellite phone, GPS/GSM tracking systems, VOIP, and surveillance systems preferred.
*Candidates from US & NATO allied countries.
*Provide at least three references that date back a minimum of 7 years. We will contact every reference and perform a detailed background interview so please notify references of your application.

In addition, MSO’s are primarily contracted to deploy overseas to austere regions of operations. Please indicate in your application cover letter if you are willing to deploy to hostile and dangerous regions in support of operation. These regions include the Gulf of Aden, Strait of Malacca, East & West African Coasts.

The MSO working as a contractor will be responsible for filing their own income taxes (e.g. Form 1099 in the US). Insurance coverage will be provided to the contractor if “activated” for the following:
*long term onsite domestic customer support projects
*any overseas projects

Foreign language(s) fluency highly desired. Especially Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, French, Swahili, Spanish, Pashtu, Dari, German, Hebrew, Balkan Language Group, Baltic Language Group. Any language group fitting regions of operation named above.
Team Leaders – Preferred candidates have a minimum of five years experience in US/NATO/NATO friendly special operations forces, with preference for former maritime special operators; e.g. US Navy SEAL/SWCC, UK SBS, German KSK, Australian SAS (Water Wing), etc…
Operative – Preferred candidates will have a minimum of five years experience in a maritime security environment, preference will go to those who have served in a military or law enforcement unit within the last seven years, with the unit’s primary focus being the maritime environment.
Must be able to maintain situational awareness, operate for extensive periods of time in elevated risk level environments.
Must have excellent briefing skills.
Ability to operate in a multinational team with a high level of cultural respect and team cohesion building.
Must have a thorough understanding of the global security situation and regional threats.
Must have a thorough understanding of the intelligence cycle, information gathering techniques, and the ISR planning process.
